It’s Move It Monday, have you planned out your routine for the day, or for the week? Are you going for a walk, jog or swim? Or are you headed out to the gym for a Zumba, Spinning or Body Pump class? Whatever your plan, just make sure you have a plan. You are more likely to follow through with your workout if you plan ahead.
Decide what your work out routine will be each day of the week. Today you may just engage in an aerobic routine. Tuesday might be chest and tricep day. Wednesday your workout may focus on your legs and abs. Thursday a yoga or Pilates class is just what you body needs to stretch and relax your muscles. And Friday may be a total body work out. Saturday you can focus on a back and biceps routine. Finally, Sunday may be your day of rest.
Planning ahead is not just limited to establishing a workout routine for the week. Picking your work out gear the night before is also important. Lay out your your heart rate monitor, sneakers, socks, shorts and tank top the night before. Also, get your gym bag ready with your hair band, towel, ear buds, phone armband, yoga mat, pad lock and toiletries. In addition, have your water bottle filled, chilled and ready so you can grab it and go. You should also pre plan and prep your pre and post workout meals. Have you checked the weather forecast? Inclement weather can alter your work out plan, so be ready for plan B. Lastly, if you are very detail oriented pick out your music playlist to get you motivated.
It’s Monday, so lets get to moving and planning. Eliminate the lack of planning so you have no excuses.
