Oftentimes we get so busy with the hustle and bustle of life that we lose sight of what matters most, such as family, friends and helping others. In addition, we forget how the little things in life can make a difference in someone else’s life, even that of a stranger. Taking the time to hold the door for others, saying good morning to the coffee shop attendant or simply telling someone how well they look today. These are just a few things that you can do that can impact someone in a positive way. If you want to do something more, consider volunteering at a homeless shelter, mentoring at a boys and girls club or donating used clothes to a church. There are many things that you can do that don’t require a lot of time or money. Simply, do want you can and give what you can.
I encourage you to do something good everyday and in the evening before you retire ask yourself “what good have I done today?” In doing this, you will gain personal satisfaction and gratification. In addition, it is a great opportunity for personal growth and development. Lastly, the feeling of doing something good for others helps you feel good. When you feel good you improve your mental, spiritual and physical health. But beyond your personal reward, the greatest benefit is what you do for humanity.
Cheers to a healthy spirit.
