Wellness Wednesday: Making Healthy Choices When Dining Out

Dining out is a fun experience, especially when in good company.  Unfortunately, when dining out we all have the tendency to over indulge and consume more calories than we would normally. If you are trying to lose or maintain your weight, dining out can pose a serious challenge.  One sure fire way to cut back on unnecessary calories is by eliminating sugary beverages and alcoholic drinks.   Instead of ordering soda, juice, sweetened tea or a mojito, opt for water or unsweetened tea instead.  Not only will you eliminate unnecessary calories, but drinking a glass of water before your meal will likely make you feel less hungry and as a result you won’t overeat.
